Upcoming Update: Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) Required for Dashboard Login starting 10 / 03 2025
Starting 10 / 03 2025, all Staylive dashboard users will be required to use two-factor authentication (2FA) when logging in. This is an important security update designed to enhance account protection and ensure secure access to the Staylive dashboard.
What This Means for You
To log in after this update, you will need to have 2FA set up. Depending on your account role, the login process will require different authentication methods:
- Platform Owners & Platform Admins → Must use OTP-based 2FA (One-Time Password via an authenticator app).
- All Other Dashboard Users → Must use Email MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication via a verification code sent to your email).
Guide: How to Set Up an Authenticator App for 2FA
What is Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)?
Two-factor authentication adds an extra layer of security to your account by requiring two forms of verification when logging in:
Your password (something you know)
A one-time code (something you have)
This helps prevent unauthorized access, even if your password is compromised.
OTP vs. Email MFA – What’s the Difference?
OTP (One-Time Password via Authenticator App)
✔ Requires an authentication app like Google Authenticator, 1Password, or Microsoft Authenticator.
✔ Generates time-sensitive codes that you enter at login.
✔ Required for Platform Owners & Admins to ensure the highest level of security.
Email MFA (Multi-Factor Authentication via Email)
✔ A verification code is sent to your registered email address.
✔ Used for all other dashboard users
Will This Affect My Platform and End Users?
No. This change only applies to dashboard users accessing the Staylive dashboard.
It will not impact platform viewers, subscribers, or login processes on your streaming platform.
How to Prepare
To ensure a smooth transition, we recommend setting up an authenticator app if you are a Platform Owner or Admin before 03/03 2025.

Guide: How to Set Up an Authenticator App for 2FA
Two-factor authentication (2FA) enhances security by requiring a one-time code from an authenticator app when you log in. Follow these steps to set up an authenticator app like Google Authenticator, 2FAS, Authy, or Microsoft Authenticator.
1. Download an Authenticator App
Choose and install an authenticator app on your mobile device:
- Google Authenticator (iOS/Android)
- 2FAS Authenticator (iOS/Android)
- Authy (iOS/Android/Desktop)
- Microsoft Authenticator (iOS/Android)
Follow the instructions in the app—some may require you to create an account to function properly.
You have now completed everything needed to be ready for the update.
2. Logging in After March 3rd
Open the authenticator app you installed.
Tap Add Account or Scan QR Code.
Scan the QR code displayed in the Staylive Dashboard or enter the key manually.
The app will now generate a one-time code for Staylive.
3. Confirm and Complete Setup
Enter the code from your authenticator app in the Staylive Dashboard.
Click Confirm or Complete Activation.
Two-factor authentication is now activated! From now on, you will need to enter a one-time code when logging in.
