Livechat improvements: safer, more engaging viewer experiences

We have updated Livechat to make it easier and safer for you to create great interactive experiences with your viewers. The latest release focuses on moderation, safety and engagement.

Safer conversations with improved moderation

  • Profanity filter to automatically block bad words and harmful language.
  • Default English word list included out of the box.
  • Custom words can be added to your own banned list.
  • Import word lists coming soon, to make setup even faster.
  • Blocked messages are still visible to moderators in a censored format, so they keep full context.
  • Moderator tools for banning users and deleting messages directly from the chat.
  • Banned users management now available in the dashboard.
  • Clear moderation workflows to keep interactions smooth and under control.

Drive engagement with announcements in chat

  • Announcements (pinned messages) let moderators highlight what’s most important in the chat.
  • Easily update with a new announcement as the stream evolves, or remove it when it’s no longer relevant.
  • Flexible styling options in the CMS so announcements match your brand look & feel.

Where to find the new tools

  • The updated moderator view is available under the new “Livechat” tab on a livestream (when chat is enabled in the settings).
  • A new Livechat settings page has been added under Platform → Livechat settings, where you can manage both the Profanity filter and banned users.
