Introducing Trimming: Part One of Our New Video Editing Tools

We’re excited to announce Trimming, the first step in our larger plan to bring a full suite of video editing capabilities—trimming and clipping—directly to the Dashboard. With Trimming, you can remove unwanted footage from the start or end of your videos, no third-party apps needed!

What Is Trimming?

Trimming lets you specify new start and end times for a video, effectively “cutting off” any extra footage before or after your main content. After trimming, the original file is replaced by the newly edited version.

How to Trim a Video

Open the Video - In the Dashboard, navigate to the video you want to edit and select the "Trim video" tab.

Set Start & End Points - Use the timeline-based editor to mark where you want the video to begin and end.

Confirm - Click “Trim Video” to finalize. The original video is replaced by the trimmed version.

Why Is Trimming Useful?

Remove Unnecessary Footage
Cut out empty lead-in time, set up time or post-event chatter that doesn’t add value to the video.

Streamline Viewer Experience
Keep your audience focused on the main action by removing irrelevant sections.

Maintain a Professional Look
Present polished content by eliminating awkward pauses or setup segments.

We’re building additional features to complement Trimming:

Creating Clips for Download - Instead of only cutting the start or end, you’ll be able to create specific highlight clips from any part of a video—ideal for social media teasers or quick highlights.

Convert Clips into New Videos - Take those clips and turn them into standalone videos on your platform. Perfect for breaking a longer stream (like multiple matches) into separate videos.

Live Stream Clipping - Capture key moments from ongoing live streams. Quickly create highlights or new videos while the event is still in progress!
