About gift cards
Gift cards makes it possible for your community to purchase a product on your platform: subscriptions or packages as a gift to someone. Gift cards can be displayed on any product page in the platform the same way as other products.
Gift cards can be managed by platform owners.
Gift someone a subscription for 3 months.
Give access to a package for 12 months.
A gift card is purchased the same way as a subscription or package on the product page. When someone receives a gift card they get a code sent to their emailadress, to redeem on the platform and get free access to the content. Any user can purchase a gift card to someone and don't require having an account on the platform. When purchasing a gift card you select if the code should be sent to you (the buyer) or to someone else.
The one purchasing the gift card will receive an email with the code to use to the product. This could be useful if you would like to give the gift card to someone in person or buy it in advance.
You are able to send the code to someone else if you want them to get the gift card immediately. Then you as buyer enter your name, the recipients name and email adress. You can also set a personal message to the one you are giving the gift card. These fields will be shown in the email the recipient gets.
In marketing & communications - email templates - gift card email, you can customize the email sent out the to users when they purchase gift cards.
To redeem a gift card you go to the redeem page of the platform. Enter the code and follow the steps. The one who redeems the code will need to create an account on the platform. For gift cards connected to a subscription, the recipients needs to fill in their card information since they are signing up to a subscription and the subscription will continue after the gifted period ends.
When the code is redeemed you will get access to the content (subscription or package) the gift card was configured to. You will need to be logged in to the platform.
If you don't want the recipient to add their card information, you will need to create a gift card connected to a package. But remember that all new content added to the platform needs to be added into the package. This can be managed when you upload a streams/video to the platform.
